Actress, writer and producer Karimah Westbrook stars alongside Taye Diggs as strong single mother Grace James to the football prodigy Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) in CW’s beloved drama series ALL AMERICAN from Executive Producer Greg Berlanti. ALL AMERICAN premiered on the CW in October 2018 and was renewed for a second season in April 2019. A teen and family drama, the show continues to be celebrated for tackling important universal topics as well as depicting the difficulty of existing in two very different social environments.
Karimah can also be seen in the newly released independent film BOLDEN. Recently starred opposite Julianne Moore in the George Clooney directed feature SUBURBICON, in THE RUM DIARY opposite Johnny Depp and AMERICAN VIOLET opposite Alfre Woodard. Westbrook has made over twenty guest star and recurring appearances in television, working on hit shows such as Showtime’s SHAMELESS and AMC’s MASTER’S OF SEX.
Grace James is the mother of high school football star Spencer and the precocious 10 year old Dillon. Grace works as a clerk with the LAPD, and though she's barely scraping by in their Crenshaw home, she has a warm, playful, but tough-loving relationship with both her kids. Grace is totally supportive of Spencer's chance to play for Beverly Hills, but she and Billy Baker share a secret that will definitely impact Spencer's life.
